Let’s face it. All of us have obsessed over an onscreen couple at some point in our lives and had our eyes glued to the screens, every time they made an appearance, or there was a new dating rumour going on about them.
Here are the six most amazing onscreen romances (both old and new) that fans have been obsessing over for quite some time now, and who wish they were dating in real life:
John Krasinski & Jenna Fischer (The Office)
Leads from one of the best sitcoms of all time, The Office, John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer have to be the most amazing onscreen couples in the history of US television! Not only did they succeed in giving us the perfect Jim and Pam, but they were also able to pull off phenomenal onscreen chemistry.
Contrary to popular opinion, these two remarkable actors are not actually together and are happily married to their significant others in real life. Nonetheless, the fans are still very much obsessed with the sparks that flew between the quirky receptionist (Pam) and the office prankster (Jim) throughout the show.
Courteney Cox & Matthew Perry (Friends)
Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry have been the dream couple of every 90s kid ever since they first appeared as a romantic pair on the popular show, Friends. Although the romance between them was utterly unexpected, people were (and still are!) smitten by the idea of them being together.
Chandler being the funny and supportive husband who works in statistical analysis and data reconfiguration (yes! You saw it right!), and Monica being the good looking chef with a compulsive need to keep things organized, made quite the pair on the show.
However, even though the fans have been wishing for them to be together since forever, these two incredible actors are still good friends and often appear on each other’s Instagram posts now that the reunion is also in the making.
Hyun Bin & Son Ye-jin (Crash Landing On You)
The South Korean actors Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin have been making headlines since their show first came on Netflix in 2019. They have been getting a lot of attention from fans all over the world for their spellbinding chemistry onscreen and brilliant performances.
There have been a lot of rumours about them dating, mostly because Crash Landing On You wasn’t the first project that they had worked on together. Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin have also been spotted together in public on several occasions, but their agencies have always denied any dating rumours.
But don’t let your hearts sink! It seems like the fans are in for a treat as the two have paired up together to work again on a new project.
Paul Wesley & Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries)
These two have been an absolute teen favourite since the beginning of the show in 2009. Fans have always been in a dilemma about the love triangle between Stefan (Paul Wesley), Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena. Paul and Nina portrayed the perfect onscreen love story that one would expect from a vampire fantasy.
While they stole the show as an onscreen couple in the first half, the second half of the show was entirely based on the love story between Elena and Damon which broke the heart of millions of fans. ‘Stelena’ shippers were even more devastated Nina and Ian started dating in real life. However, the pair eventually broke up, and Nina is still on good terms with both Paul and Ian.
Patrick Dempsey & Ellen Pompeo (Greys Anatomy)
Patrick Dempsey aka Mc Dreamy and Ellen Pompeo, who is famous for playing the role of Meredith Grey in the medical drama, Greys Anatomy, exposed the audience to a roller coaster ride of emotions through their romance onscreen. Starting from the amazing proposal to the sad ending of this magical hospital love story, the fans have cried both tears of sorrow and happiness.
The viewers have always shipped these two talented stars for the longest time but sadly, they don’t seem to be close in real life. Nevertheless, Ellen did once mention in an interview that Patrick will always hold a special place in her heart because of all the good tv they made together.
Andy Samberg & Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine)
An on-screen romance that stirs up from the New York City Police Department in the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Andy Samberg and Melissa Fumero had all of us on the edge of our seats throughout the show. Viewers were eagerly waiting for this pair to be together since the very first episode as the attraction between these two opposite personalities was just inevitable.
With all the slow-burning chemistry, the fans couldn’t seem to get enough of Jake and Amy. But while these two actors make a great couple onscreen, Andy and Melissa are just good friends and married to other people in real life.
